Our patient, a 40 something year old male, had pretty much accepted as fact that he had an unusual lip positioning issue that was unchangeable.He was referred to our office by his General Dentist who had recently attended one of Dr. Nemeth's special training seminars that he provides to local and statewide dentistry professionals. During that presentation the General Dentist reviewed several slide presentations outlining the different types of periodontal treatment procedures for treating lip positioning issues. As his dentist, and the patient himself learned, he had a condition that represents a variation of different types of lip lowering and lip repositioning surgeries that Dr. Nemeth has been providing for our patients for many years. Understandably, the patient was quite excited about the prospect of altering certain tissue groupings that could create the cosmetic and functional results that the patient had wanted for a long time. Something that he thought was not possible. 
To assure absolute comfort and relaxation for the patient and provide the best possible treatment environment for Dr. Nemeth, the patient was provided IV Sedation, along with Versed and Valium medications.The close up picture shows the post operative treatment results from the tissue surgeries performed by Dr. Nemeth. Note how nicely and evenly the tissues have healed. There is little or no apparent indication that this treatment was ever provided. The upper arch support structures now provide more normalized lip movements for the patient. Most importantly, dental function was, attesting to the degree of success and cosmetic result desired by the patient.
