Creative Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures

Dental Implants Southfield Michigan Dr. Nemeth has been using advanced laser technologies for years in his periodontic practice. We currently employ 4 different types of dental lasers.. each designed for specific uses.

Specialized lasers exist for use in achieving very creative cosmetic results in restorative and reconstructive dentistry.

In most instances, precision application of laser technology can make the difference in achieving the perfect smile. Balanced, symmetrical and perfectly proportioned gum lines are created by Dr. Nemeth to accent the final cosmetic result.

Gum shaping and reshaping, also referred to as gum contouring and crown lengthening typically involves trimming and removal of excess or unwanted gingival tissue.

Types of Gum Tissue Grafts

Before Photo Picture Gum Shaping Contouring Connective Tissue Grafting: Dr. Nemeth uses the patient's own gum tissue (also referred to as palatal tisssue) to cover areas where the gum line has receeded or is congenitally deficient. In this case example photo the patient will be undergoing a variety of restorative procedures to produce a pleasing whitest of white smiles.

The patient successfully completed treatment for gum disease but clearly has areas of recession.

After Photo Connective Gum Tissue Graft Reshaping The second photo clearly shows the dramatic result of the tissue grafting and gum recontouring. Dr. Nemeth created a healthy and balanced gum contour for each receeding gumline.

Whether you call it gum shaping, reshaping, contouring or crown lengthening... this is a popular and highly successful procedure that provides excellent esthetic results.

Alloderm Grafting: Another type of Connective Tissue Grafting in that areas of recessed gum tissue are treated. The difference is that instead of using the patient’s own tissue for grafting, we use donor tissue called Alloderm that also provides excellent results.

Gummy Smiles

Many patients have excess gum tissue on one tooth or excess tissue on multiple teeth. Dr. Nemeth uses traditional surgery and laser technology to creatively remove and recontour the entire gum line.

Precision Periodontal Gum Reshaping

Before Photo Periodontist Laser Gum Reshaping Contouring In the adjacent photo it can be seen that our young teenaged patient has extreme overgrowth of gum (gingival) tissue affecting all of her upper teeth.

Notice how this excess tissue makes her teeth appear short and blunt.

Cosmetic Dentistry Outcome

The after photo readily shows the impact of recontouring most of the gingival surfaces and arches. Dr. Nemeth created a harmonious relationship between all of the upper teeth, exposing a significant amount of healthy tooth structure while maintaining esthetically pleasing tooth-to-gum proportions.

This photo was taken prior to teeth whitening procedures. By looking closely at the post operative results, faint markings exist, showing where her original gum line was prior to treatment.

Periodontic laser technologies are implemented in a variety of treatment plans for restorative and reconstructive dentistry by Dr. Nemeth.
